Couriers are sole proprietors. DoorDash driver tax deductions run through T2125. km, fuel, phone, same as any self-employed Canadian.. GST/HST is the part people mix up with Uber.
Start freeIt depends on the work you do. Delivery-only work, such as DoorDash or Skip the Dishes, often still uses the $30,000 small-supplier threshold over four calendar quarters (or one quarter). Passenger ride-sharing must register from the first fare, so DoorDash HST is not automatically the same as Uber driver HST.
If you dash and also take UberX trips, the ride-share rule is the one that applies.
Upload your DoorDash statements or enter them yourself (SnapBooks reads the statement; it does not import the T4A). Keep the logbook. Export the 5-sheet workbook. File T1 + T2125 with an accountant or tax software. Same workflow as Uber driver taxes Canada, different HST trigger.
The KM logbook and 15 receipts a month are free. Solo $69/yr CAD for unlimited receipts and the Excel and PDF reports for your accountant.
